Communiqué of the First Plenary Session of the Twentieth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China

The First Plenary Session of the Twentieth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing on October 23, 2022.

The plenary session was attended by 203 members of the Central Committee and 168 alternate members of the Central Committee. Members of the Central Discipline Inspection Commission attended the meeting.

Comrade Xi Jinping presided over the meeting and made an important speech after being elected General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

The Plenary elected members of the Central Political Bureau, members of the Standing Committee of the Central Political Bureau, General Secretary of the Central Committee; adopted the members of the Central Secretariat and decided on the composition of the Central Military Commission according to the nomination of the Standing Committee of the Central Political Bureau; approved the candidates for Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Standing Committee members elected at the first plenary session of the 20th Central Discipline Inspection Commission.
